Hunger: Everyone experiences hunger, before dinner, after skipping breakfast, whatever, that growling rumbling thing inside, but do you really know what true hunger is.
Real Starvation.

Hunger Is the feeling as though your stomach and ribs are being pulled inwards, your body tightening.
It is your body begging you to feed it, to nourish its enclosing prison, to let you break free.
And even if you do. The feeling does not banish. Why? Because it isn't enough. It is never enough anymore.
You have deprived it for so long now that even the biggest binge will not take this feeling away.
Yet still you feel guilty and ashamed.
But your body begs for mercy, to give it more.
But you have had enough.
You want this hunger, and although it has not gone yet, you are afraid it will.

Hunger Is waking up dizzy and aching. Unable to lift yourself up with your weak frail bones. The feeling that you will throw up as soon as you see your bowl of cereal. Headaches make you unable to think properly. Stabbing in your stomach, it will stop soon you think.
That tight feeling is back, but your stomach no longer growls, as it did once with normal hunger.
So hunger is no longer noticebale like it was.
You don't know what being full is like anymore.
And you don't care to know.
It is the thing you have ran away from for so long, you will not go back.

Hunger Is being so tired that eating is a chore, something you just can't be bothered to do anymore.
Your body is shutting down slowly, dying.
It begs you, screams at you.
But your mind has told you, that the tight feeling in your stomach is no longer enough.
You need to feel the pain, the weight slide off you, you need to see your bones, escape the body you have been granted.
You have worked for this pain, for hunger and staravtion.

Hunger Is not attention seeking. It is a sense of escape, or needs unmet, it is a game we play, "guess whats wrong", we know you won't guess. Thats the point, you won't succeed, but we succeed, we starve, like we have decided. Is this finally one of our goals accomplished.

Hunger is your mind forbidding your skeletal body of care and energy. It exposes us to the world, of our feelings inside, it brutally pushes them into fullview. Yet still, no-one really sees.
but they try.
But by now hunger has driven you to insanity.
To violence.
Tears.

Hunger is a self afflicted pain, developing from the self hatred and hurt from within. It is a dark punishment.
But by now it just feels normal.
You've done it for so long now it doesn't matter if you die.

This is what hunger is, what Ana offers you.
What she makes you feel day by day.
As though you were in a third world country, on the poverty line, with nothing.
People ask you why you are selfish.
But are you?
Is it selfish to feel trapped inside?
To be fighting a war with your own thoughts?
To want to die and escape things that have hurt you.

Starvation comes in many forms and for many reasons.
Hunger is a prisonlike cycle, for everyone.
My views on hunger, from an anorexics point of view. Please feel free to comment.
